Our Mission

    We are God's people of Sharon Lutheran Church in Wallace County.  Created by God, saved by Christ and strengthened by the Holy Spirit through Baptism and Holy Communion, we are one family.  With diverse talents, gifts, and experiences, we are united by Christ to work together to spread the Gospel through the witness of our whole lives.

    In baptism God chose us to be God's agents in this place and time:  the arms and legs of the "Body of Christ".  Following our call, we gather together to receive and be strengthened by God's love,  From there, then, we scatter to spread that love to the various parts of the world which we touch.

    We reflect God's love in a variety of ways,  Through service we touch lives with the love and care of God.  While this love starts here within our family, it generates outward to reach out to God's needy within our community, state, nation, and world.  Through teaching and studying the  Word of God we prepare ourselves to reach out with truth and faith into the darkness and fear of our world.  By our willingness to share of our gifts and ourselves, and by our faith expressed in words and actions, we proclaim the Gospel to our families, neighbors, colleagues and ultimately to our world.  We praise and thank God through our worship. prayer and lifestyles.  We gladly accept the call of Christ to continue the work of reconciling ourselves and our world to God and one another.  We are called to reflect God's love in all these ways now and always.
