›› A Hearty Welcome to all our Friends in the Community!

Welcome to St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church in Northeast Philadelphia, Pennsylvania!  Want to learn more?  Our present ministry is characterized by a commitment to the community, strong leadership, diverse worship formats and a range of programs for children, youth and adults.  We extend an invitation to you to come and visit us if you are in the neighborhood.

We are happy you are here and we hope that we can inspire you to get to know more about Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  With all the unsettling events occurring in the world today and things not being what we thought they were, many of us find ourselves searching for something more in our lives.  We invite you to get in touch with Jesus Christ.  He will alleviate your fears and give you the peace and the understanding that you search.

›› Visitors' Information:

• New Members...will be received on Sunday, October 10th.  Are you thinking of joining Saint James?  Call the Office or speak to Pastor Paul.

• Persons with walking difficulties... can be aided by using the ramp which is located on the side lawn of Pratt Street. 

• A sound system is available for persons with hearing impairments.  

• The Nursery is open at 9:20 am and staffed by Mrs. Margarete Allen.  Adults and teen volunteers are needed to staff our preschool nursery during the 9:20 service.  Please contact Pastor Paul for more information.

• Parents, a baby changing table is located in the women's restroom just off the church.  If your child becomes restless, you are encouraged to take them behind the rear glass door or to the nursery. 

• Seasonal Devotional Booklets are available on the back table at the church.

›› In the Parish:

• Join us at the Gathering Place.  Social and culinary refreshment is offered every Sunday morning between services in the cloakroom area.  

• Our Christian Preschool continues to accept registrations for this fall.  Some openings are available in the AM and PM classes.  For more information or to register your child, call Eva Parisi, Registrar at 215.831.1483,  Orientation and opening day for classes has been set.
