*A ‘CALL’ TASK FORCE has organized for the purpose of finding a new pastor. It consists of Larry Thum, chairperson, Sam Schoell, Sheila Adorno, Doug Traher, Joe Frunzi, Diane Frunzi, Pennie Rodriguez, Terri Bitting, John Main, Mary Main and Rhodie Fowler. Would you please take time to complete a questionnaire for the benefit of our Call Task Force? Your information will assist them in their search for a new pastor. THE CALL TASK FORCE continues to meet on Monday evenings. We are currently working on a congregational profile for Saint James. When completed this will be given to pastors interested in coming to Saint James to apply for the Pastor position. Please feel free to contact any of the Task Force members with any questions or concerns you might have.
*OUR 85TH ANNIVERSARY year began with a number of memorable events. The large crocheted mural of ‘The Last Supper’ and the Castor side Courtyard door were dedicated at the 9:10 and 11:15 services. Councilperson Maria Quinones presented Pastor Paul with a Citation from City Council for his service to the church and the community. In addition to our band’s wonderful music, there was the great string band sound of the Mummers again. Nan Marker read an anniversary citation from City Council at the crowded reception. At the same time, Al Taubenberger brought greetings from the Greater NE Chamber of Commerce and Rhodie Fowler read a greeting from Rev. John Sweet of the Frankford Ministerium. Over 250 persons attended the Anniversary Sunday services.
*SAINT JAMES FOOD CUPBOARD - Our food cupboard needs some specific items. Your help in providing these will be greatly
appreciated! Jar or canned goods: String beans, spinach, peas, pork & beans, potatoes, corn, carrots, soups, gravy, peanut butter, grape jelly, baby food, pasta sauce, tuna fish,

*Crochet Project 2011... If you are new to our project or are interested in continuing to help, call Williena Owes at 215-288-5326. Our goal this year is to put together 25 bags each, for women, men children and families. Join us for this important ministry!
*WE WELCOME back the Rev. Russell G. Jenkins as preacher at 9:20 and 11am today. Rev. Jenkins is a retired Lutheran pastor and a native of Philadelphia.
*The Special CONGREGATIONAL MEETING... THE SPECIAL meeting to adopt a new constitution has been postponed to allow the Church Council and the Task Force time to explore the NALC, North American Lutheran Church, and its model constitution. Being dual-rostered, which many churches have done, would allow us greater access to identify the best pastoral candidates for Saint James. We would still be a Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ, LCMC, church. See members of Council or the Task Force for any questions. September is the new month for the meeting.
*SAINT JAMES T-shirts,... a bright red, are now on sale in the hospitality area. The cost is $7.00.
*‘SON SURF BEACH BASH’, this year’s Vacation Bible School, begins tomorrow evening July 25 at 6:30pm. There is no cost! Registration forms can be found on the back table. Donation envelopes for your consideration are available at the back of church.
