DISCERNING OUR FUTURE...with the ELCA
Church Council, at its May meeting voted to recommend to the congregation that Saint James disaffiliate with the ELCA and join another Lutheran church body yet to be decided. The reasons for this decision are many and will be shared with you on Sundays and through the mail over the summer. A Transition Task Force has been formed and approved by council. Members are: Sam Schoell, Rhodie Fowler, Robert Arehart, Ronnie Diehl, Dennis McCook, Nancy Zoeltsch, Dee Neverson, Mike Vaughn, Barry Howell, Larry Thurn (chairperson) and Pastor Paul. The task force is working on the following actions:
Please feel free to communicate any questions, concerns, or ideas you might have concerning this important and historic action by our church. Task force members will be available to talk with you. We are confident that Saint James can address any potentially diffi¬cult or divisive issues that arise during this process with respect for each other and genuine Christian love. Please join with us in praying for the task force and church council in this time of transition.

›› Church Events at Saint James
St. James is a vibrant church offering a calendar of activities in which you are welcome to participate. Each year, the Church celebrates its ministry with an Anniversary Sunday, and recognizes over the course of the year all of the people who assist with worship and education. We have an annual church picnic, an all night youth marathon to raise funds against world hunger, and annual Christmas play and a live nativity. Church members meet in special interest groups including New Mommies and the St. James Helping Hands. They also work together on social ministry programs such as Aid for Friends. There are many other groups and events which would benefit from your attendance and support!
Please check below for more information on what's happening at Saint James.
