Activities at Prince of Peace
Family Night Fellowship
Fellowship is Wednesday nights
during the month of September through
November and January through the beginning of the Lenten Season. During Lent, a
soup supper is served at 6:00 p.m. followed by the Lenten service at 7:00 p.m.
Easter Fair
This is an evening of fun and food
for all ages to enjoy. A meal which usually consists of beefburgers,
nachos, and desert is followed by the making of a seasonal craft item to
take home as well as one to give patients at the hospital or residents
of a nursing home. The Easter Fair is usually held on Palm Sunday each
year with nearly one hundred in attendance. The event kicks off at 5:30
p.m. and is completed by 7:30 p.m..
Advent Fair
Like the Easter Fair, this is an evening
of fun and food for all ages to enjoy. A meal which usually consists of

residents of a nursing home. The Advent Fair is usually held on the first Sunday
of Advent each year with nearly one hundred in attendance. The event kicks off
at 5:30 p.m. and is completed by 7:30 p.m..
Community Service
Prince of Peace supports several
organizations including the Food Pantry, Clothes Closet, a family at Thanksgiving
and at Christmas. Luther Park Nursing Home and
Valborg Nursing Home also receive support Bethfudgies (fudge candy) is
sold to raise money for Bethphage
Home.
Social Activities
Activities include an annual congregational picnic in
August, potlucks, new member receptions, and graduation recognition. Several
Bible Study Groups meet in member's homes. An active group called the LAF (Life Around Fifty)
group meets on a regular basis for numerous fun and educational activities that
usually include food. A Fellowship Committee plans other events throughout the
year.
Deaf Ministry
A 10:30 a.m. church service for the
hearing-impaired is available most Sundays. See the Deaf Ministry page included
