Boy Scouts As the sponsoring organization of BSA Troop 85, Prince of Peace allows the troop to use the Fellowship Room on Thursday nights for regular meetings each week and for special events as requested. In addition, they use the storage room across the hall from the kitchen for storage. Occasionally, they have used our garage/storage shed for larger items of equipment. Our sanctuary also has been used for Eagle Scout ceremonies. Over the past several years the troop has often volunteered to clean up the grounds around the church. They assisted us with the marking of our folding chairs and tables. Individual scouts have approached the council with proposed Eagle projects, however, I do not believe any of them were carried out. Craig Winn is the Scoutmaster. He is willing to work with us to identify other opportunities for service to, and interaction / cooperation with the congregation. Craig has expressed an interest in having the scouts be a part of a Scout Sunday service. The troop has not previously been a part of any Scout Sunday observance. |
