* Faux Stained Glass is hand painted heavy vellum papers.
Matte medium with tints of acrylic paint are brushed and textured onto stretched vellum.
Once dried, they are cut and glued onto acetate lining which is mounted onto the hand cut heavy paper frames outlining the images for the windows.
Passing Along Our Peace Lutheran Church Sunday Greeting: "May the Peace of the Lord be with you." Members selected Biblical verses that expressed their feeling for the Peace.
A ten [10] window [3' x 8' each] design illustration came from the generous collaboration of many church members, outside volunteers, Pastor Tim Larson, and facilitated by design illustrator Cessily Thalacker. The scale drawing envisions images that would represent members ideas about recognizing Peace as infinite loving Grace from God, accepted by each of us in Faith, shared with others through Service.
From the mountains' rivers' raging waters cascading over barren lands to the plains where the Lion and the Lamb calm the currents into still waters at Christ's feet.
The dove announces "You are my Beloved Son in whom I am well pleased".
Christ holds a lamb, surrounded by children of the world in a moment of transfiguration radiating his Love to all.
The Holy Ghost appears as a rushing wind entwining all of Creation in a symbol of Infinity.
Families gather at the river to enjoy fellowship and community with others. At a round picnic table, we relax and view a quilt made by our members, chat and plan events.
Dogwoods blossom to remind us of renewal of our faith in Christ's promises for our lives.
Our Pastor Tim and retired Pastor Brown stand with us in fellowship. Our children enjoy summer camp on Lake Michigan silhouetted against the setting sun.
