Sept. 15, 1994
The Division For Outreach appoints Pastor
Jamie Thompson as Pastor Developer, followed by the official call given
by the St. Paul Area Synod. Pastor Jamie, his wife Sherri, their son and
daughter Nathan and Breanna arrive in Farmington.
April 2, 1995
First Service of Lord of Life at Akin Road
Elementary School. 229 people present including Bishop Lowell
Erdahl of the St. Paul Area Synod.
August 12-15, 1996
First Vacation Bible School with 40 children and 15 volunteers
meeting daily at the parsonage.
August 16-17, 1996
Mission statement adopted. "Making God first through hope,
growth, and togetherness."
September 29,
1996
First confirmation class is confirmed. The Charter was opened for
the first time with 80 people signing the charter.
April 6, 1997
Service of Organization led by Mission Director Richard Mord.
The constitution, bylaws, and budget are adopted.
April 13, 1997
Service of Recognition. Bishop Mark Hanson preaches and
presides. Lord of Life recognized as a congregation of the Evangelical
Lutheran Church in America. Pastor Jamie Thompson is called as the first
pastor of Lord of Life. The Charter officially closes with 144 baptized
members.
December 1999
Lord of Life closes the purchase of its 15 acre site, just
west of Pilot Knob road on the south side of Dodd Boulevard.

2002
Lord of Life give thanks to God for its 7 years of worship
and its 5th anniversary!
July
2006
Lord of Life breaks ground on our new building site! January
2007
Lord of Life takes occupancy of our new building! April
2007
Lord of Life hosts our official Open House and Dedication
Ceremonies and celebrates 10 years as a recognized ELCA congregation. back
