The purpose of this congregation shall be to give honor and glory to God. We do this by assisting in the preaching of the good news of Jesus Christ to all the world. We show our untied faith in Jesus Christ through public worship, and participation in the sacraments. Our goals are to provide biblical instruction to all our members according to the teachings of the Lutheran Church, to foster fellowship and love, to reach out to the needy, and to reach out into our community so that they may know the love of Jesus Christ as their Savior.
March 4, 1989 a group of people from Faith and Trinity Lutheran Churches in Jefferson City met with the Missouri District of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod to discuss a mission congregation in Holts Summit, Missouri. From April to June of 1989 Sunday Afternoon Bible Classes were held at the Summit Bank. In June 1990 worship services began at North School with most of the services being conducted by Rev. Al Lange of Faith Lutheran Church in Jefferson City. Over the next two years the mission was served by various ministers and two Seminarians from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis. The mission then moved to the Callaway Plaza into a small store front. In the Spring of 1992 a 9.4 acre tract of land was purchased on Halifax Street for the future Grace Lutheran Church. In August 1992 the now Rev. Gary Brandt served his vicarage at Grace. After his internship he continued to serve the congregation until June 1995. During his tenure the congregation moved into a bigger location in Callaway Plaza, in November 1992. On March 14, 1993 the congregation was officially incorporated as a member of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod.
